Paramex Limited are recruiting for a Design Engineer based in the West Midlands. In this role you will provide design engineering capability to engineering activities and projects at our clients design engineering centre. This is a CAD Design and Engineering role using CREO. However training will be given to applicants with other CAD system experience who have the relevant design engineering experience.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, costs and other constraints
  • Support the conceptual development for new products
  • Participate in maintaining in relevant engineering processes and procedures
  • Supporting the identification of business opportunities
  • Problem solving on existing products and product improvement
  • Support the evaluation of technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions
  • Support assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan and budget
  • Working alongside the customer on product development ensuring delivery of solutions to meet the customer’s requirements
  • Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support to others as required
  • Actively participate business unit improvement activities

Person Specification

  • Education

  • It is essential that you have a HND or suitable mechanical engineering design experience, ideally you will also have a degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • It is essential that you have experience in 3D CAD design and have a hands on approach to engineering design and development
  • It is desirable that applicants have:
  • Experience of mobile off-highway equipment
  • Experience in the use of PRO-Engineer
  • Experience of components and sub-systems used on off-highway equipment including drive train and hydraulics
  • Experience in an off-highway vehicle design environment

    North West External Sales Engineer

    Paramex are seeking a Sales Engineer to work in the North West of the UK for our client who is a leading UK manufacturer of dust control and air filtration systems.Reporting to the Northern Area Sales Manager you will maintain close working relationships with Clients, Contracts Engineers, Sales Managers and the sales team. You will have direct responsibility for the North West England sales territory.
    You will be responsible for maintaining, developing and expanding the existing client base regarding the sale of process filtration solutions, dust collectors and complete turn-key systems.
    The position is Home Based, with visits to HQ in Stoke on Trent when required. Typically you will spend 2/3 days out in the field and the rest at home compiling reports.
    The positions geographical area covers Cheshire, North Wales up to the Scottish borders across to the West Pennines.

    Main duties and responsibilities

      To manage and develop the existing North West sales territory with the following aims and responsibilities:

    • Client visits and site surveys to appraise technical requirements for proposed solutions
    • Prepare engineered solutions from tenders or site meetings in a clear and concise way for submittal to the internal sales support department including site sketches, ductwork layout drawings, filter selection and specifications, fan pressure drop calculation etc
    • Where necessary, produce complete quotations
    • Responsibility for sale from initial point of contact with client to point of order
    • Maintain and develop existing clients to ensure maximum sale potential and understanding of our product and service offering
    • Expand and develop the existing sales territory in terms of new clients and opportunities
    • Regular reporting to sales manager of prospects, opportunities and other sales related statistics

    Required skills and experience

    • Proven track record in an external customer facing technical sales role
    • Well-developed customer service skills, including direct customer engagement in a commercial business-to-business environment dealing with both resale and OEM clients as well as direct end users
    • Strong working background in an engineering estimating role, ideally within Dust Control
    • Understanding of ductwork design and installation
    • High level of competence in the use of Microsoft Office suite and other contemporary proprietary IT support software
    • Ability to work unsupervised and high level of self-motivation
    • Strong ambition to maintain, develop and expand sales territory
    • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
    • Good planning and organisational skills
    • A full (preferably clean) driving licence

    Maya Look Development Artist

    Paramex are searching for a MAYA Look Development Artist, to be based on a client site in the Northwest. We are seeking someone with strong generalist / modeller / texture / lighting artist’s skills and an understanding of physically based shading and rendering. There will be the opportunity of an immediate start for the successful candidate. This is a long term contract position.
    In this role you will be responsible for the modelling of soft trim luxury automotive interiors and exterior parts from released engineering 2D / 3D reference and scan data. You will develop virtual environments, materials, shaders and lighting for the rendering of Hyper Real images for a luxury automotive car configurator and other personalised CGI media including sets for Real Time Motion Capture from photography, drawings and scans.
    You may have previously worked as a texture artist, look development artist or 3D generalist and you will have proven experience of using Maya in production CGI environments, demonstrating an ability to create complex and accurate models from 2D reference, and 3D scan data.
    Applicants presenting photo realistic car configurator work will be reviewed with prority.

    Tasks

    • Working on the lighting, shading, and rendering of images with a set deadline to customer quality standards
    • Assist with the creation of documentation for lighting guidelines and techniques
      Implement workflow, scripts and tools as needed.
    • Communicate with other team members on concerns and production issues ahead of time.

    Required skills and experience

    • Minimum 5 years professional look dev / texturing / shading experience in VFX, working on live-action feature films and or TV commercials

    • Strong LookDev skills (both artistically and technically), with an excellent understanding of physically based shading and rendering
